These are hollow dolls; you put your hands inside so that you can animate Punch and Judy, like the actor and actress they have always been. Judy being the columbine type is in character when she has an eyelet embroidered, net or sheer organdy ruffle outlining her sweet face. Punch, the Pierrot type needs a ruffle around his neck too.
