Santa's last stop is a prim one, he's left with just one little primitive doll and a ragged candy cane... this 20" vintage look Santa is made from osnaburg and dressed in aged red flannel trimmed in scraps of cheesecloth. His beard is dyed sheep's wool, his face done in simple black pencil, and he is holding a tiny rag doll and the last candy cane .

REMEMBER THE SHEPHERD

The Shepherd is a primitive vintage look Santa sure to be a treasured gift whether you make him for yourself or someone special. He is 15" to 20" tall when perched on an antiqued paper mache box. He is a humble looking Santa, made from osnaburg and wearing aged flannel trimmed in cotton batting. The Shepherd Santa has a prim batting sheep tucked under one arm and carries a flannel stocking filled with greenery and sprinkled with snow.

Three Good Men

Three Good Men . . .and you thought one was hard to find! This pattern includes instructions for making all three men, named Woody, Kris and Maurice. They are 17 to 19 inches tall, made from fabric that has been stuffed, stiffened and antiqued to look like statuettes.

CELESTE Tree Top

Celeste is about 17" tall, and is made on a tree topper cone that pops right on the top branch. Her robes are made from aged flannel that has been trimmed with braid, and she is holding a simple star trimmed in tassels. Celeste's face is simple pen and ink with a tiny pinched nose and painted hair.

Salvation Santa Pattern

Time to think about getting those Santas done for the fall shows! Here's a wonderful primitive Santa for you to make up, a primitive version of a Santa we all know, announcing Christmas with the ring of a bell and the swing of a collection kettle! What would the little ones do without him? Salvation Santa is 32" tall and done in a folk art style with faded blue eyes and a soft sheeps wool beard. He is dressed in aged flannels and homespuns with painted mittens and boots, and carries a rusty bell and a penny bucket.

Pattern for Pumpkin Dreams and Harvest Nights, a 30" pumpkin doll and cat doll, both a little on the pudgy side, both rather prim and vintage grungy, but charming nonetheless. Both dolls are made from the same body pattern, but you have two choices for clothing, the underdress and skirt or the painted bodice and skirt.

. .my eternal hope for peace, translated in to a cloth doll pattern with a simple poem to share with someone who must sit and wait . . . Paperdoll - 20"

I've always loved paperdolls, kind of sentimental I guess, but here's my "grownup" interpretation of an old paperdoll in fabric. She is 20" tall, and is made from muslin or linen. Her nose and mouth are stitched and shaded with pencil, then her eyes and hair are penciled in, as are her stockings and shoes. I wanted that "paperdoll" quality to her clothes, too, so she is first dressed in a one piece chemise, then has a really fun little dress that ties in the back so it's easy to take on and off. She comes with the paperdoll pattern for you to color. I have also included the instructions for making her little storage box.

Betty Ruth

Betty Ruth is a charming 22" primitive doll pattern from my Broadhollow Kinfolk pattern line, and made to look as though you just found her in an attic trunk. She is made from linen or osnaburg and has a simple penciled face, stitch pinched nose, and rag stuffed body for that old timey feel. Her wool dress and homespun unders are easy to make up from scraps you have on hand.

Sadie

Sadie is my newest "old" doll. She is 24" tall, and made to look very vintage. She is stained and antiqued and dressed in a simple dress made from homespun. Her face is very muted and aged, she has the old style mitten hands and turned up feet, and her tummy is rag stuffed.

Audra Rose

Audra Rose is one of my favorites this season. She is a simple gal, really, made to hang on a wall or perch on a shelf gracefully. She is 24" long, made from linen or muslin, has a painted bodice trimmed in any old thing, and a wears a simple gathered skirt. She has a penned face, pinch stitched nose and just a little hair. She could be as primitive or as prissy as you like, I've made several from mustard homespun and several from lace tablecloths, they were all my favorite that day.

Tattered Hearts

"Of tattered hearts and Love Forlorn, How frayed the edge and fabric worn . . . If needle and thread could mend them new, I would stitch them back together for you." So goes the lament of Tattered Hearts, a 30" doll meant to comfort the broken heart. She can be made easily from muslin, with penned eyes and wool for hair. Her bodice is painted, her skirt made simply from your choice of fabric. She makes up quickly, and I think she would be great in a lot of of different fabrics. I originally made her for Valentine's day, but some folks have asked me to make her for a friend or loved one who needs the kind thought to encourage them. She is holding the broken halves of a heart, and comes with a copy of her lament already printed on fabric for you to pin on.

FAITH

Faith is a short and sassy angel (30") with an expressive face and beautiful hands for holding your favorite things. Wears baby clothes or you can make her a dress with the pattern. Wings are storebought, easy!
